#2,221 News Day + LPD.
We started off the day at the Laurel Welcome Center with WDAM and WHLT to do our very first-ever interviews about the show. To mark the occasion, we took lots of pictures together because it was a first for all of us in one way or another! I found that fun plaid blanket sweater vest scarf thing in Jackson for Sunday, then found another sweater for Sunday, but then I wore it today and felt so cozy in it and thought “well, maybe I WILL wear this Sunday,” but then I went and blew it and wore it today. But look, if I change my mind and wear it anyway on Sunday, THIS NEVER HAPPENED. Right?
Afterward I was pleasantly surprised to bump into some of my favorite girls while mama, Ben and I were waiting on our lunch at Lee’s. Whitney and Sara are two of my most important faith mentors, even though Sara and I grew up together and are the same age. She is a ray of sunshine who gives her love and prayers to everyone lucky enough to meet her.
And then after a very long day with supper at IHOP at 9:30 at night, we dragged in at home at 10:00 where I found this on the front door:
And I actually cried about it for just a second, thinking of how much our police chief cares and how safe I feel thanks to the LPD. I told him I was feeling a little anxious about stranger danger with so much attention on us this week and he sent our friend, Lt. Thornhill, to check on things. This is why we’re making a TV show, y’all. This is why small towns are the best towns.
And finally, Julia from Hooked on Houses let me write a guest post about what it’s like to make an HGTV show and it was so special to me that she asked. That blog is the reason I got to connect with so many of you good people, because they wrote about our little unfinished craftsman cottage way back in 2012. To Nancy, Amanda, and Lisa. I’m glad you read HoH all those years ago! This corner of the internet would be sad without you!
3 more days. THREE! We’ve got a contest going over on our instagrams if you want to help us spread the word!
