#2,204 Doctor + Chicken Soup + Laurel Lovers.
I would like for everyone to take a look at the doctor’s office waiting room when I walked in this morning:
And I don’t think I have to explain why it was the best doctor visit ever. I was in and out in 10 minutes with a shot for all this congestion and prescription in hand. I even saw Lindsay, an old friend from high school who works there, and got to catch up on life of late. Thank you so much for being awesome today, Urgent Care!
When I came home, Ben surprised me by making a big pot of homemade chicken soup. This was the very thing I needed to feel better for tomorrow. I’m just sorry that now he’s sniffling and sneezing, too. Stupid germs!
His parents raised their boys right. He takes such good care of me, not just when I’m sick, but every single day. Thankful isn’t the right word.
Now the really cool thing that happened today… I received emails from 3 people today, all interested in coming to Laurel. One of them, a family living in NYC who are from Spain, are moving here this summer. One of them, a creative in NYC, is considering moving here thanks to the creative (and low-cost) economy here in Mississippi. One of them is coming here in a few months from Washington, D.C. to spend a few days getting his hands dirty at the Scotsman shop and to learn about woodworking. Each one of these emails made me squeal with delight, to have tangible proof that the popular perception of my beautiful state isn’t as backward as the mainstream news would have you believe. There are other people who see the beauty in it, too. And goodness, I’m thankful for that.
