#2,175 Day Off.

This incredibly wonderful week came with a price—late nights and tedious, busy hours, with lots of emotional highs and excitement then the biggest weekend on the calendar every year for our town, and this morning when my alarm went off to wake us for church, after going to bed at 2 am 6 nights in a row, I just couldn’t wake up. We slept in and missed it, and took our own sabbath here at home doing absolutely nothing with the exception of Sunday dinner at my parents’ house to see Mammaw and John Walker.

We walked the dogs tonight and saw all the houses decked out in their Christmas lights and finery.

It was so lovely and chilly out, if a little more humid than we’d like this time of year. And then there was more rest on the couch with a Hallmark Christmas movie written by a man from Laurel who was a longtime radio DJ here.

The world is tiny, isn’t it?

P.S. Today is December 6 which means tomorrow is the start of our anniversary week—the week we met. I’ll be sharing those old posts from our most favorite week all week long, feeling emotional and probably going on a date to Sonic for cheesesticks while listening to Damien Rice. It’s so hard to remember my life before Ben.
