#2,176 Long Day + Framily Supper.
I woke up thinking, ” TODAY WILL BE AWESOME because I know what I need to get done and none of it’s hard and I’ve just got to cross it all off my list. I’ll go for a walk first and run my post office errand!”
On my walk I also stopped by the prayer chapel at church to talk to the Big Man about some things coming up this week. We’re expecting some important news in a few days and when you’re feeling anxious, it’s best to have a good long prayer about it and forget it. Sort of like the crock pot cookbook. I know I’ve said it a million times, but man the leaves are so beautiful around here at Christmastime.
And, so, the day wasn’t really easy after all. It was pretty slam packed with tasks I had sorta forgotten about on top of super important time-sensitive ones that amounted to my finishing my last house portrait of the day at 7:30 pm. Thankfully our buddy Chad stopped by this afternoon and didn’t mind running to pick up more skillets from the foundry for the shop, which was a huge help.
Which made walking in the door at Josh and Em’s with the Charlie Brown Christmas music on the radio feel like coming in to a Nancy Meyers movie set where everything is cozy and delicious. They’re finishing up the last of the food that’s been brought to them since Mrs. Marty went on to heaven and we were helping them so they could “clean the pans” as mama says. It was so good seeing these faces, our extended framily.
And guess what? I spy a big baby bump on the right… Josh and Em are expecting another little one in a few months. Did I tell you that?
P.S.
As if we didn’t blow up your instagrams enough, it’s Two Arms Day! You can read my post about that here and his here. I’ll never forget the day he first wrapped me up in a hug. I was home, and I didn’t know it quite yet.
