#91 Summer vacation.
After months of deliberation, we’ve finally made up our minds. We’ve decided to save Disney for someday when (if) we have babies, and for now we’ve decided to finally make that road trip through old Florida and up to Savannah in May! As if our week-long trips to Lake Junaluska with the youth every summer weren’t vacation enough:
We’re going to take a 5-6 day trip from Laurel to Micanopy, Florida (where they filmed Doc Hollywood):
(When we found this article in Country Living, we knew it was a sign.)
Then we will drive up to St. Augustine, Florida — our favorite city on earth, the oldest city in America, where my brother and his wife lived for their newlywed years while he was in physical therapy school. It is really, seriously, truly, the most magical and historical place I’ve ever been. I went there first when I was 8 years old, originally planned to go to college there at Flagler and have visited that amazing city by the sea many times since. It’s like visiting Spain without the passport, and I can’t wait to go back.
I’ll keep y’all up-to-date as plans progress, but for now just say a little prayer and keep your fingers crossed that we’ll finally get to take this trip!
