#2,245 Greek Pancake + Home Again.
Two very good things happened today.
1. I ate the most unique and delicious breakfast of my life at Audubon’s Cafe, a little greasy spoon that sits in the parking lot of a grocery store in St. Francisville. The severe exterior appearance is deceiving because when we walked inside it was filled with some of the nicest, happiest people I’ve ever met and looked like a cheerful grandma’s kitchen with tchotchkes and plastic table cloths. It was here that I ate the first and only Greek pancake of my life (they called it that, though the menu did not)—a pancake filled with ham, eggs and cheese the size of a dinner plate that I smothered in syrup and inhaled. It was incredible. You need to go there and eat this.
2. We came home, where the street lights come on at dusk and the neighbors leave Valentines in your mailbox.
