#2,506 The End (of Season 1).

I don’t know how we did it, but somehow, someway, with incredible leaders and a hedge of talented and hard working people always walking alongside us, we’ve finished filming season 1 of Home Town. We can’t share much, but here are a few strategically cropped photos of our last days on set. Gosh, it’s just been like a dream, y’all.

Before every scene, every day of shooting, dozens of times, our director, Jim would call out “We have the power to do this!” to let everyone on set know we literally have electricity, it’s time to get quiet on set, it’s time to film. Big and I were so new to the world of TV production, so green and fascinated by the process. We all learned each other, our jokes and favorite movies and first (embarrassing) concerts. We became a little family. I don’t recall a single disagreement on set. Every day has been a joy. And so far because of this show, so many people know about our sleepy little town here in the Deep South. We can show the world a new picture of Mississippi instead of the one they’ve been taught.

We made letterpress prints for our whole crew as a gift to take home with them all over the world and we will keep them at the Laurel Mercantile too. We couldn’t be more thankful for our crew tonight at the end of this adventure. And now we wait for the premiere in the spring and how it will change our town and the way people see it.

We have the power to do this.
