#658 The Great Pumpkin.

Tonight was our church’s 2nd year to host a movie night in the pumpkin patch—a free showing of It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown open to the community.

Nights like this make me fall in love with downtown all over again. The fact that temps were in the 40s made it feel like we were closer to New England than the Gulf of Mexico and all the little kids were hunkered down in coats and blankets, turning pumpkins into pillows for the duration of the movie. There were lots of parents and youth hanging around for the spectacle, enjoying the hot chocolate on tap.

I can’t think of many churches that do so many fun community outreach events like this, and I can’t imagine our life without FUMC in it.
