#2,201 New Year.

To ring in the new year yesterday we went out to the old family farm that Jim and Mal have recently inherited where the guys were shooting clays and we brought some supplies (Doritos and strawberry Crush).

Then last night, we grilled out with a roaring fire going in the firepit and the big movie screen set up so we could watch When Harry Met Sally which will never ever ever get old to me. Don’t you love that movie? “When you meet the love of your life, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”

We stepped into 2016 with the Razzles, Rories, Tews and Batemans, a fine group of folks to celebrate an impossibly special year. We sure missed the Nowells who are off on a fun vacation, though.

Today we loafed around with the Rories until it was time to head to my parents’ house for the traditional New Year dinner for health, wealth, and luck:

And we crammed into their living room and watched the Rebels bring home a big victory over Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl.

I’m really sorry your team couldn’t win too, Ashlee. We definitely know how it feels to lose. We’re Ole Miss fans. It happens. Afterward, we hugged Josh and Rebecca’s necks since they’ll be heading back home to Memphis in the morning. I’m going to miss her so much!

P.S. The website was down all day, so I’m really sorry for any of you who came knocking on our interweb door and found that we weren’t home. It should be all patched up now and good to go. Let’s have the best year ever, friends. What do you say?!
