#1,447 Deck the Halls.

It’s decorating day! We spent every bit of today getting rid of pumpkins and mountains of leaves in the yard, and fluffing up the house for Christmas.

How awesome is the bizarre typo on this ornament?

Ben as an old man. Or, Scottish Santa.

And… Done! Well, the inside is. Still got a few finishing touches to do on the outside. I’m glad we got this kind of tree this year. They said it has the strongest evergreen smell of them all and they weren’t lying. You can smell it all the way in the kitchen. Carolina Sapphire, you have my heart.

Jim and Mallorie bought a new car today and wanted to take it for a spin on a dinner date to Weidmann’s in Meridian. This weekend is the 6th anniversary of their first date, which we also attended, so it was as good an excuse as any to make the 1 hour drive for dinner.

Their trademark are these cute little churns of a cinnamony peanut butter on every table with crackers while you wait.

I have no idea why we don’t go there more often. It was just as good as any meal we had in New York. Maybe better. I had shrimp and grits, Ben had steak with horseradish potatoes, Jim had the same thing, Mal had softshell crab over garlic cream linguine. I could eat there every night and try something different from the menu there was so much to choose from!
